Boyfriend pic, cooking disaster, self-censorship, welfare, and police unions
I tried to cook a very basic food and it went exactly as well as you'd expect.
Hey everyone,
In an exciting personal development, the boyfriend & I are almost done with Game of Thrones — just two episodes left. I will let y’all know how he reacts to the series’s utterly disgraceful and disappointing ending.
Oh, and in a funny twist that some of you nerds who read this might appreciate, my boyfriend was astounded that I have never seen Avatar: The Last Airbender. So last night we watched the first episode and I really like it! We will probably binge it next after we wrap up with GoT.
In career news, I’m still lovin’ life as a freelancer. I might have some bigger developments coming down the line soon, but for now I’m perfectly content to just keep writing about things that interest me all day.
If you only read one thing I write this week, make it my New York Daily News op-Ed explaining how police unions help bad cops get away with murder. (Figuratively, but also in a few instances literally.)
Stay safe & well.
Meme: Someone made this after I got dragged on Twitter for not supporting private tank ownership (yes, seriously) and I kinda love it.
Food Take: Turkey burgers slap. They are a different mood and obviously I’m not saying they’re better than regular burgers, but you can eat them more often since they’re waaaay healthier.
Oh and uh… I tried to cook rice on Monday and it didn’t go very well.
Media Corner: In my latest hit on Fox 5 DC, D.C.’s top local news station, I discussed the #MeToo scandal plaguing the Washington Redskins and the debate over whether reopening the D.C. area’s schools is ‘essential’ amid COVID-19.
