Impeachment, Glenn Beck, Boomers, Grey's Anatomy & More
Hey everyone,
What a crazy couple of weeks. I've been traveling a lot lately, and am super busy at work between the madness with impeachment, a massive budget bill passing Congress, the debate over a new trade agreement (USMCA), and more.
But politics is just politics, and I've been doing my best to tune it all out after I leave work. The boyfriend and I just finished season one of The Crown, a Netflix original period series about Queen Elizabeth. It's pretty good, although I usually fall asleep mid-episode.
We also watch Grey's Anatomy together... during which I have to cover my eyes during all the gross surgeries (of course med school boyfriend isn't phased). I also can't keep up with how many people keep dying or losing limbs or cheating or getting married or getting pregnant or getting in a car crash in like one season. A lot to follow.
What shows should I watch on my own that are on Hulu/Netflix? And what books should I put on my Christmas list?
Wishing you all a great holiday.
Here's some of what I've been writing lately:
The fine print of this new budget deal is absolutely awful
Most people are distracted by impeachment, and Congress is exploiting that reality to slip three awful policies into its new budget deal. Read more.
Myth busted: Campus carry never caused that increase in violence liberals predicted
When states and colleges first started passing laws allowing permitted Second Amendment rights on campus, many liberals predicted disaster. The results have been just fine. Read more.
Between Megan Rapinoe and Greta Thunberg, the woke Left could use more impressive leaders. Read more.
The Democrats articles of impeachment are utterly unconvincing and set an awful precedent
I certainly don't think Trump is innocent of all wrongdoing. But I can't imagine supporting impeachment when Democrats haven't even articulated an actual crime in their articles. Read more.
Media Hit: I joined Glenn Beck's national radio show.
I debated the socially-conservative host on his show last week over the new LGBT-rights-religious-liberty compromise bill I've covered extensively. Check out a clip from our conversation -- it got fiesty: https://twitter.com/brad_polumbo/status/1205245930389282816
