My Career Update, Vacation News, Coronavirus Memes, AOC, Mitt Romney, And An Idea For New Pet
Hey everyone,
I hope you're enjoying your coronavirus quarantines! I honestly am enjoying mine. Many of you know that, as much as I love drama online and getting attention for my work, I'm actually an introvert in real life. The prospect of spending weeks in my apartment just reading, working, playing video games and relaxing... um, actually sounds amazing. And it's not like I'm totally alone; my roommates are here, and of course the boyfriend too :)
In a bit of job news, you might remember that I am on a one-year fellowship at the Washington Examiner, which ends in June. Turns out that I will not be staying on afterward. I'm very grateful for the wonderful experience I have had, getting to reach millions of readers, interview top politicians, and appear on cable news. To say nothing of all the talented people I've gotten to work with and learn from.
Of course, still two more months of good work to come! But stay tuned as I figure out what's next, and feel free to drop me a line if you know of any openings ;D (Suffice it to say it's a somewhat nerve-wracking time to be on the job market).
Boyfriend Update: So, in a bit of bad coronavirus news, we are pretty much certain that our planned trip to the Dominican Republic in April will not happen. It's a shame, but in the grand scheme of things happening due to this pandemic, it's a very minor setback. We will get to go eventually!
Meme: I put out a call for the best coronavirus memes on Twitter. I was overwhelmed by all the amazing responses. Here are a few of my favorites:
Book Club: I am currently 630 (!!) pages into The Well of Ascension, the second book in the Mistborn trilogy. Thankfully, one upside of the coronavirus self-quarantine has been having more time to read (and play video games), so I should finish it up soon. An amazing, engaging story despite the length.

Media Corner:
"Joe Biden defeating Bernie Sanders like this shows us that socialism is not winning in America yet... he's not an all-out socialist with a history of sympathizing with communist dictators."
